		<description>Wij die niet Verdwijnen - Inspired by a trip in the neighbourhood, the movement and interactions of the people observed and the spaces of De Pianofabriek, we created costumes with a group of Brussels children. Not to disappear into the street scene, but to claim our place and reflect on the neighbourhood in which we settle as humans &#38;lt; animals &#38;lt; beings.In co-creation with MUS-E Belgium.

The air we breathe is a visual investigation thatattempts to make air pollution visible. It was on display at BLANCO, Ghent, from 15 to 24 January 2021.

Every year, more than 400,000 people in Europedie prematurely due to air pollution. For Belgium, thenumber of years of life lost is estimated at 86,000.Research shows that air pollution is responsible for 19%of all deaths from cardiovascular disease, 21% of all deaths fromstrokes, 23% of deaths from lung cancer and almost 45% of chroniclung diseases. The pollutant that has the greatest long-termimpact on health is particulate matter, including particulatematter (PM) 2.5. These particles end up in the atmosphere throughnatural causes or human activities such as transport, industry,agriculture and heating. People with a lower socio-economic status live,work and attend school in places with poorer air quality. Children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with a medical historyare most sensitive to the negative effects.


 The World Health Organisation statesthat there is no safe threshold below which no adverse effects occur.Nevertheless, it publishes 10µg/m3 as a recommended value forthe maximum annual average concentration of particulate matter. European standardsallow a higher concentration as a result of a balancing actbetween health risks and economic considerations, among other things. In 2020,this was 20µg/m3.&#38;nbsp;The air we breathe is not an end point and contains no conclusion. The installation invited us toreflect on this ambiguous relationship that people have with their environment. Everyday, every second.

The children were experimenting with photography, video and collage techniques to portray themselves and each other in an original way. Using a selection of the diverse material created during the workshops, Sophie and Raisa created an installation that was included in the Children of the Renaissance exhibition. INFANTIA 2021 is deliberately a kaleidoscopic co-creation. The portraits on display in the exhibition were chosen by the children themselves: they decide how they are dressed, posed and therefore also portrayed. The installation was accompanied by an audio guide in which you could also hear the children speak. (text MUS-E Belgium)

Vitrine M #3&#38;nbsp;
An investigation into possible connections between the people who share the area around the Brussels city swimming pool: the staff, the bathers, the market traders and the visitors to the Vossenplein. The research was conducted through interviews, observation and encounters, and resulted in a small testimony of kinship between people who share only space, time and the occasional glance. 
21 June - 18 December 2019, display case swimming pool Brussels city, also viewable by non-swimmers.

‘Naakt door het domein lopen en Dextro eten’
As artist-in-residence at Destelheide, a centre for youth, art and creation run by the Flemish Community, I explored, manipulated and exhibited the different relationships that visitors have with the domain. How do visitors appropriate this place? Is the seclusion of this place a prerequisite for feeling at home? What unspoken conditions do visitors impose on others during their stay? I focused on the visitors' experience and only showed work that was created there, within the boundaries of Destelheide.

What are the boundaries of Destelheide? The domain seems to blend so seamlessly into the surrounding landscape that few visitors can pinpoint the exact physical separation from the outside world, as I noticed from the survey. However, once through the Destelheide gate, residents themselves appear to install invisible boundaries. After all, the domain becomes theirs for a certain period of time, and anyone who enters Destelheide must then comply with their specific, unspoken conditions.‘Naakt door het domein lopen en Dextro eten’ is a visual account of a journey along the physical border of Destelheide. The explicit depiction of this separation on the windows of the restaurant aims to confront visitors with the various boundaries – visible and invisible – that determine human behaviour, in Destelheide and elsewhere.

Who am I? Who am I really? Am I different from the others? So how different am I then? 
An how different is someone else? Together with choreographer Yentl De Werdt and philosopher Jan Knops secondary school pupils of Coovi Anderlecht looked for answers through language and movement. Little by little they rid themselves of expectations and discovered the power of the unexpected.
