INFANTIA - On the occasion of the expo Kinderen van de Renaissance at the Museum Hof van Busleyden in Mechelen, Sophie Vanhomwegen and Raisa Vandamme worked with various classes from two primary schools in Mechelen. The children were experimenting with photography, video and collage techniques to portray themselves and each other in an original way. Using a selection of the diverse material created during the workshops, Sophie and Raisa created an installation that was included in the Children of the Renaissance exhibition. INFANTIA 2021 is deliberately a kaleidoscopic co-creation. The portraits on display in the exhibition were chosen by the children themselves: they decide how they are dressed, posed and therefore also portrayed.
